Things to Know when Removing a Pool in Santa Ana California

Before removing a pool in Santa Ana California, you probably want to know what to expect from this experience. Here’s a brief run-down of the pool removal process:

Estimate: You can request a FREE estimate online or you can give us a call. When you’re ready to begin, we’ll schedule a time that’s convenient for you to visit your property and provide you with an estimated cost of removal.

Permit: We might need one but if we do, it’s not a problem to obtain one.

Water: Pools with water must be drained prior to demolition. This, too, is not a problem. Often times, this is part of the process. Before we begin demolition, we’ll expertly drain the water from the pool by drilling holes into the concrete.

Demolition: Your options include partial removal (abandonment) or complete removal (exhumation). If you’re on a tight budget, you may wish to consider abandonment removal but if money is not a concern for you and you’d just like to remove the entire pool, you may wish to consider the complete removal.

The difference between both methods includes pricing and of course the method of removal. With a half removal, the remaining section gets “hole-punched” and then filled in with dirt and rocks. There is no hole-punching involved with a complete removal. The open space left behind by an exhumation removal is also filled in with dirt and rocks.

Debris Removal: Following Santa Clara pool demolition, we remove all debris from the property and clean up.

Grass: Interested in new grass for this area of your property? We’re happy to help you get started, but please note that there is an extra charge for this service. If interested in new grass, you’ll want to request this service during the planning phase of pool removal.

Top 5 Reasons to Remove a Pool

The reasons for pool removal vary, but these are some of top reasons. The most common reason is generally that the pool has reached its lifetime and is no longer in-use. Pools that sit unused have the potential to become liability concerns for several reasons, plus that space can be used for something more useful to the property owner.
